Wintergreen oil contains esters like methyl salicylate (~90%) which inhibit the formation of prostaglandins (toxic lipids), thereby reducing inflammation and pain. It also helps to improve the blood circulations, reduces cold and cough and headaches. Wintergreen oil is one of the main ingredients of aspirin. In general, there are no painkiller oils/sprays/balms without wintergreen oil.
Reduces muscular pain & joint pain:
- Apply 3-5 drops on pain area, do not massage for heavy pain.
- Add 2-4 drops to a spoon of sesame oil and apply on pain area and massage gently
- Add 3-4 drops to a small tub of hot water, soak your foot for 15 minutes before going to night sleep.
- Add 3-5 drops to a piece of cotton and place it on the pain area and tie them.
Note: Wintergreen oil is very strong, pregnant and lactating women must not use.
